Yafeu Reviews: Samurai Noodle
I went to Samurai Noodle, which is a noodle place. It was very small and you can see into the kitchen. It was by Uwajimaya in the International District. There were a lot of people for the restaurant. It was really busy. It was quick to get our food, but it was loud. The waiter was very nice.
Their Tonkotsu Ramen pork noodles were delicious. That’s what I got. I didn’t like the black fungus on it, but I did like the pork. I accidentally gave all the pork to my cousin. We also got vegan Gyoza – it was green! Gyoza is like pot stickers and there was a delicious crusty layer of something on top of them. Papa got Vegan Stir-Fry Ramen. Papa and my cousin liked it a lot.
My Tonkotsu noodles were slippery and just the right amount chewy and they were warm. Samurai Noodle has lots of locations and they have a noodle machine to make their own noodles. Running the noodles through their machine is like running stones through it, though, because to make the noodles authentic Tonkotsu noodles they have to have less water in it than most other noodles. It’s very hard but they want us to have the best experience of authentic Tonkotsu ramen noodles.
I recommend Samurai Noodle for lunch or dinner. I will have the same thing next time I go there. When you go to Samurai Noodle you could go to Uwajimaya to get some Pocky sticks, which are pretzel sticks dipped in different creams.
